Information we collect
When you use the contact form, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, the subject and contents of your message, and how you heard about us. The website also stores a one-way hash associated with the submitting internet address to help prevent spam; it is not intended to identify you.
Why we use it
We use contact details to respond to enquiries, provide requested information or support, administer membership and activities, and keep appropriate records. We process information because you asked us to respond and because the charity has legitimate interests in providing its services safely and effectively.
Storage and sharing
Website enquiries are stored in the protected administration area and may also be emailed to the charity’s nominated address. We do not sell personal information. We may share information where necessary with a service provider acting for us, with your agreement when arranging support, or when required by law.
Retention
Enquiries should be reviewed and deleted when no longer needed. Administrators can delete messages through the admin area. The charity should apply its wider retention policy to any information copied into other systems.
Your rights
You may ask for access to, correction of or deletion of personal information, subject to legal limits. Contact info@brainwaves-ni.org. You may also raise concerns with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Important review note
This is a practical website privacy notice supplied with the rebuild. The trustees should review it against the charity’s full data protection policy and actual working practices before publication.
