Fantastic Family Weekend

Fantastic Family Weekend

Brainwaves NI organised a weekend break to Armagh City Hotel on 22nd and 23rd of May 2015. A total of 131 attended comprising 41 families of 94 adults and 37 children.  From the 'meet and greet'  on Friday evening through to departure on Sunday,  families had the opportunity to meet others affected by a brain tumour and to share experiences and lend encouragement and hope.

On Saturday the families visited the Armagh Planetarium where they were welcomed by the Lord Mayor of Armagh, Darryn Causby.

The feedback we receive every year from families about how beneficial the Weekend Breaks are reinforces how vital this Support is to our local families.

Just a few of the messages we received this year...

"Great to be in such a supportive atmosphere and see happy, laughing children having a break from the anxiety and stress of living with a brain tumour"

"Everyone is affected by the diagnosis; having family members present aids understanding of the condition which is helpful for both the patient and the family member."

"Well done to Brainwaves NI for lifting everyone's spirits and giving hope and friendship."
