Equal Access NI campaign

There are nearly 40 cancer and vital life-extending drugs some of which are researched, designed, developed, tested and trialled at QUB Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology that are NOT available to local NI cancer patients.

This issue was originally brought to attention by local cancer campaigners and from the beginning we supported their campaign particularly through social media, were we shared their urgent message to help bring wider local attention to such a crucial and shocking issue.

Amazing Marathon Couple

Massive thanks to an incredible local couple, Jamie and Georgie McCutcheon who ran the Belfast Marathon for Brainwaves NI.

They have raised a fantastic £900 through their JustGiving fundraising page. They chose this challenge because they wanted to show how much they appreciated the support Brainwaves NI has provided to their family.

Every penny will go towards continuing to provide vital support to local families battling brain tumours.

Fabulous Fancy-dress Fundraiser

Brainwaves NI would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude and huge congratulations to Gillian McDonald, one of our local brain tumour warriors, who decided to host her 50th birthday celebration as a fabulous and fun fancy-dress and requested in lieu of presents that donations be made to help Brainwaves NI continue to provide vital brain tumour support for local patients and families.

With the shared enthusiasm and participation of friends and family, Gillian has raised a staggering £2100 – amazing!

CCRCB Research

Brainwaves NI has supported brain tumour research at the Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology (CCRCB), Queen's University Belfast

A Brain Tumour Focus Group comprising of healthcare clinicians from Belfast Trust and researchers from CCRCB has been recently established with the assistance of Brainwaves NI. This group aims to work together and share information.
